Effective use public transportation in Japan

There are trains, buses, and taxis.(yes, no uber in this country by taxi driver union power…)

But Japanese taxes are astonishing high price compared with other countries and congesting road, so I’m difficult to recommend it aside from local region. (By the way, Japanese taxi drivers are not con or steal change 99%. In my view, the average manner is good. )

Japanese Railways

For example, Shinkansen is JR train, but some private railways has own fast train on their main railways. There are more than 5 private railways and subways in Tokyo. Osaka region are fewer than Tokyo, but like that.

You can take the trains by same IC card or their own company’s railway ticket. If JR and private company are in same station, the transition is smooth by touching once on the machine. In these days, buses can be used same IC card. If you had made IC card in Tokyo’s station, you can use it in bus in Osaka. This is about-rule, trains are expensive in local area and cheap in metropolitan area. When you trip large group, sometimes taxi is better way in local zone.

Japanese Bus

Next, bus, Japanese buses are so many in every town and more complicated than trains. but Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, those cities are same rules you go into front door and touch IC card or money to the machine, and touch the button before the station you leave, and just leave off the bus.

Most of those metropolitan area buses are 2 dollars. So you had a lot of time and you want to save money, bus is better than any other transportation. There is also one-day bus ticket about 5 dollar.

Thank you for reading 🙂
